Thread: Wiring questions?

2002 f350 crewcab longbed. I self installed my stereo and need some wiring questions as the previos owner hacked the wiring to pieces. I bought a unit with a 3.6 screen in dash that has a reverse wire to automatically swith the input to the image when the truck is in reverse, i need a wire under the dash that is easy to access and is hot when the truck in in reverse. I also need a wire that is hot in the acc key position.

Look for a black with white tracer wire at the back of fuse panel. It's a positive lead.

At the ignition switch harness under the steering column:
Constant: yellow & light green w/ purple tracer
Starter: dark green
Ignition1: white w/ yellow tracer or red w/ light green tracer
Ignition2: red w/ black tracer
Acc1: gray w/ yellow tracer
Acc2: dark blue w/ light green tracer

Always double check with a voltmeter.
