    Problems w/ Clifford Remote Start??

I've got the Clifford Matrix RS1.1. The thing just went haywire last night now it still starts the truck but then shuts it down in about 30sec.It wont go into valet mode... And nothing on my guage panel works!! No speedo, Tach, nothing!! I'm going to take it in tommorrow but just wanted to throw this out there in case anyone has had similar problems....

    Thanks,
    JB

Did you buy it from an authorizied dealer/installer, if so go back to them it has a life time warranty on it.

If you bought it and installed it yourself go to this web sight and post your questions here. Ever wonder were all the techi electronic car guys hang out, this is the place.

I have a Pursuit Pro-9800 with Remote Start and all that crap..... and what 951 was talking about with mine was that every so often when I start up my truck using the remote start, about 30 seconds later, the alarm starts going off. Also, (very rare) my alarm will go off all by itself, with no one near it and no earthquakes happening... ;) .... Also, the cheap ass remote doesn't display everything on it anymore, only the lock symbol, which is the only thing I really need to look at, so I'm not crying too bad about it.

Hopefully you get yours working, let us know what ya find out!

Thanks guys, But I found out after 4 trips back to the installer it's not the remote start that causing it:o The installer couldn't figure it out either but it keeps popping the fuse for the instrument cluster. So he diconnected the remote start completely and sure enough it popped again. So I called Ford, Service rep told me that it could be a short somewhere in the steering column. Checked it out, wiggled wires and what not... Replaced the fuse and so far (Fingers crossed ) the fuse hasn't popped!! If it does it will have to go into Ford on Wednesday I guess...

    I'll keep you guys posted..

    Thanks again, JB

Most of the time the installers get all of the high current wiring for remote start at the column. If you shifted wiring and it got better I would say something in the installers wiring is grounding. Make sure it is all taped up well. Plus that could get dangerous if say a fuse melts or fails to break you could have a fire. I would try to figure out what was causing it before you have real problems. Sorry you aren't closer I would love to look at it for you.

Hey StereoGuy, I really appreciate the offer. The truck is in the shop now because like you said I did not want to take a chance of having BIG problems. What it ended up being is a short in the shift lever something with the wire that runs up to the Tow/Haul button. The service rep told me that this is pretty common in our trucks And that it happens alot on the F-150's as well. But I have never heard of anyone having this problem before. Anyway it going to end up costing me about 300 bones and i'll get the truck back tommorrow.

Thanks again, and I'll keep you guys posted.

Glad you got it handled too bad it cost so much for what sounds like a flaw they no they have. Anyway atleast it is handled and won't end up a story here. I can see the post now " superduty burns to the ground" Hate seeing that stuff happen to fellow members.
