Bully Dog or DP Tuner 4 bank chip

Hi all. I currently have a Bully Dog 4 pos chip with switch. There are things I like and don't like about it. Mainly I tow and seem to have lost some downhill capabilities, like holding me back downhill. I have heard Jody Tipton's programming is much better. Does anyone have experience comparing these two chip programs? I am considering getting a DP Tuner chip from Jody to replace the Bully Dog. Thoughts?

Jody is one of the best there is. While I have not tried his tunes, I have heard nothing but great things about them.

In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England 's Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America , he said:
"A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in... And how many want out." Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
    1. Jesus Christ
    2. The American G. I.
One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Thanks, that is what I am hearing. Jody has been great to work with. I will probably call him tommorrow and place an order. Then sell the one I have.It is not a bad chip, just not exactly what I am looking for. Thanks again.

Re: Bully Dog or DP Tuner 4 bank chip

Yes looks like Ramona is the place. I have 102k on my truck. Have always towed about 11,000-12,000 lbs. 3 horse gooseneck w/live in qtrs. Just want to make it a little easier on my truck. So far so good.

When I put my 4" stainless exhaust on I lost mid and top end power. Then installed a kfe intake. Fixed the power curve problem and added at least 3 miles to the gallon. I still did not have as much power up hill as stock so put a chip in. Now not happy with the transmission programming on this chip so am having Jody at DP set me up with 3 programs I think. Stock, (for whe others drive my truck),40hp towing, econ 80hp performance. I have heard his program is really good for TC lockup and holding on the downhill. So I guess I will pop for his chip and let you all know how it goes. My F250 PSD is definitally the best truck I have ever had.

Hey Forumblue. How does that AIH plug with code eliminator working? Do you have your boost gauge connected there? If wo what kind of readings do you get?
    Thanks.

Re: Bully Dog or DP Tuner 4 bank chip

THANKS TO ALL. I already made a call to the place I purchased the Bully chip. They will take it back and are very understanding. Jody will be burning my new chip and I will get exactly what I want. It is great to work with someone that listens and has great suggestions.

I will update you all after I get the new chip in and analysize.

I'm sure you will love the 80hp program. Lots of power and better MPG if you can keep your foot out of it.
As far as the AIH Plug I didn't notice any difference but I figured it couldn't hurt to get rid of the hunk of metal. Especially seeing that all the things that need to happen for it to work actually happening together is pretty rare especially for a So. Cal truck. And all it does is clear up a little smoke for about 5 minutes anyway. My boost is tapped into the MAP line. But I've heard the readings in those 2 places are pretty much the same.

Re: Bully Dog or DP Tuner 4 bank chip

Yep ForumBlue you are right! I ordered a chip from Jody at DP Tuner yesterday morning and it arrived today. The UPS driver was in the driveway and I had about a 100 mile trip to drive today and needed to leave in 1/2 hour. Just enought time. Took the other chip out and put the DP in. Took my drive. WOW there is no comparison! Jody's tune is so much better in so many ways I do not even know where to start. I will say the 80 hp is the way to drive. From the smooth accelleration, perfect shift points and TC lock up. My truck works just as well up hill as downhill. My truck sounds like a jet going down the freeway now instead of something else. With the other chip my truck sounded growly and the exhaust popped along more like a gasser. Now it is just smooth, is more quiet and moves out..... I mean moves out without sounding like it is going to blow apart. My turbo spins up better now. The trans programming is super! Everything is better. You can squeeze the accellerator the way it is meant to be.
