I'm getting corrupted...getting the urge for more power.
Currently using the Hypertech PPIII and thinking about upgrading.
Have AFE intake and MagnaFlow 4" exhaust.
Want a programmer, not a chip.
Anyone got any comments on the SCMT 1705.

From what I've read in POWER STROKE REGISTRY it is the new king of the hill in tuners. They are no longer generic they are tuned to your ECU code. On the 110hp setting you should be able to get 2-3mpg increase if you can keep your foot out of it. They did not say anything about the shifts but I would think they are probably great.

I just got a new Max SCMT today [my first mod] and a 4" Bullydog exhaust and AFE air filter box. It made my truck soooo much better to drive, it used to almost fight itself just to accelerate. Now you just touch the throttle and vrooom away she goes. I dont notice any difference in the shifting though. Full throttle upshifts are a tad lazy but light throttle one are great. Still on the HD towing mode untill my A pillar shows up so I can install my gauges.

I just got the SCMT 1705 at the October Showdown.
Uploaded the 110 hp program in about 10min. Boy what
a differance I think I will like this set up.
On the drive down from Modesto I got 18.4 mpg.
By the overhead computer that is about .4 to the
plus side. On the trip home 65-70mph under 2000rpm
I peaked at 23.4 and still going up. It was 150 miles
each way. I can break the tires loose from a standing
start. I will past again after some more testing

I have not had a chance to do any street driving.
Only the trip home. But it did break the tires loose
in a turn at 1/4 pedal. Temps were about the same.
They went up when I got on it to get on the freeway
but not any higher the before. I will let you know

The shifting dosent seem alot different. Maybe a little firmer. All in all I realy like it. I herd they are vin locked. I sure hope not I want to sneek it in my wifes

Well John, I've had my SCMT for about a week now and LOVE what it has done for the truck. I'm running the tow safe (70 hp) mode right now and will let you know how mileage is after a few tanks. I will be making a trip to NV this week so I should have some good boost/temp/mpg numbers next week to share. I won't be able to comment on the shifts since I'm one of those 'hand shaker' guys. You won't be disappointed with the SCMT
