is above or below the coil better for leveling spacer

i have seen leveling kits that install above the coil spring and some that install where the coil meets the axle.. anyone know which is best?
i have a guy that will install at my house but i want to get the right kit..
im guessing i will need an alignment when im done right?
i guess ill give buds a call in riverside to get a price.
    any help would be great..

I did a 1 inch spacer below the coil spring mount on the bottom, does just fine for me.

On top or on the bottom is OK. The only thing is make sure that coil cannot get out of the bucket. I like to see "J" clips on the coils if they have any kind of spacer on them.

I put a 1.5" block on the bottom of my icon 4.5" lift spring. It went under the spring perch and seems to work well, just had to adjust the steering and trac bar.
