    West Yellowstone & 37' WW 5er.

I'll be headed for West Yellowstone in June and was wondering what route would be the easiest to take although it appears the 15-N to the 20-N is the most common.
Anyone taken these routes with a 5er this long. How are the grades heading up there.
How was your experiance & what would you do different the second time to be better prepared.

    Thanks Ya'll.

We've pulled our 27' WW to Yellowstone twice in the past 6 years. We've stayed at the South entrance. The route you're planning will be fine with your TH. Getting over Targee Pass is the only thing you'll have to worry about, and it's shallow (3-4%) compared to some of the other roads in the area.

Be prepared to burn a lot of fuel. Yellowstone is HUGE and you can cover 100 miles a day in the park easily. Fuel is also expensive in the park.

What are you most interested in seeing while you're there?

    Hello William,
I'll be all over the place Tetons for sure.
How long is the Targee Pass I hope I don't over heat.
Any suggestions on what to bring other than the obvious like spare, cables, tools, fliuds ect, ect.

    Thanks

I made reservations on line. They have KOA and Grizzly camps at the West entrance.
I'll be staying at Grizzly for 2 weeks they have premium sites with full hook ups including
    WI-FI.

If you can travel from Barstow to Vegas with your rig in June, you should be fine. Baker grade is a lot steeper. Targhee peaks up around the elevation of the park(7000'+), but you start out in high country so the change isn't severe. Take your time and enjoy the ride.

A 7 day pass is good for Yellowstone and Grand Teton parks. You get a great map from the rangers when you enter the parks. Firewood is reasonably priced if you buy it up there. Bring your own skewers for marshmallow roasting. The local sticks suck. Make sure you have mosquito repellent, as they can get thick after a thaw. Bring lots of memory for your cameras and something to take video. Bring binoculars for everyone, even if they're cheap. They'll keep the kids occupied while you drive. Always have more than just summer clothes with you.

If you want to spot a specific animal, ask others in the area. News travels fast about the big animals(bear/moose/wolves), and a little help finding them greatly increases your odds. Elk and bison are everywhere.

    It's an amazing place..

    Lower Yellowstone falls..

    Looking over Lamar Valley..

    Pool in Geyser Basin..

    Tetons..

    Buffalo everywhere..

You're in for a good time!!

Can hardly wait. My truck is running great too. Last mod was the 6.0 IC so that should help on the grades.
Great pics by the way and thanks for the tips.
