    Back from Kansas

    Well I made it home

Thanks for the interesting weekend Brian it was fun
We weren't able to make it to the track as we had some tow truck problems
I was able to go to Brian's dirt track and see the roundy round cars on Saturday night. The track is shaping up real nice and it is a very nice setup. They have done a lot of work and more to come , when finished it will be a 1st class track.

Brian and I were able to set down and talk about our Stroked Lightning project and figure out how we want to finish this year and make plans for the upgrades to do on the truck this winter. I will be posting pics and articles as time goes on but for now the race for the 10's is on and it is game time.

    Thanks Again Brian

You're welcome Gene. I just wish we could have made it to the track.

The last injector is being put in my F250 today, so hopefully I won't ever have that problem again. I'm not sure yet on the no-turbo-boost condition. Maybe you could post the condition, since you know it better than I do, and someone will have an answer.

But 10s are right around the corner for Stroked Lightning!

The problem we had with Brian C's truck was no spoolup at low throttle lots of black smoke. Very hard to get moving after a stop and a check engine light once and a while. There was only one code that came up and I think it was a 2263 , the light came on a few times but when I would check the codes it would say no codes found. After spending about 3.5 hours trying to get to Brian's which was about 100 miles away I got within 10 miles when I got cut off by a jerk in a car and when I pushed the pedal very hard it spooled right up and ran fine the rest of the way.

What is your best educated guess ??

In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England 's Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America , he said:
"A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in... And how many want out." Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
    1. Jesus Christ
    2. The American G. I.
One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

    No Boost off idle....

    Gene/Brian,
Let us know what you find with Brians truck, if you figure it out before I get a chance to work on my truck. If you happen to see my post in the Aftermarket forums, I am very interested in what is going on here...

    Turbo Failures

    John,
Yes, I agree on the diagnosis, now the more difficult part. What is causing the failures? I have seen a very small part of a TSB (SSM 19245) from Ford that pertains to turbo failures/repeat failures and the diagnostic procedure to be followed before replacing the VGT solenoid and/or turbo. It has many question, including if the truck has a non-stock intake system and instructs the tech to run certain tests (koeo and kam clear, plus others) and to contact Ford with test results and DTC's before replacement of suspect faulty parts. I am wondering if this is in an effort determine the cause of the failures, and what possible programming and/or other component issues it deals with. Specifically, this TSB states this problem may be more present in trucks flashed with the 06E17 reflash.

P.S. coincidentally, my truck received the 06E17 flash when the headgaskets and turbo were done

    Gene,
Did Brian's truck have the latest flash from Ford eliminating the EBP sensor and is now controling the vanes from the MAP sensor?
