Emergency power pack and jump starter?

Hey guys I am thinking about getting an emergency power pack and jump starter. It will be primarily used to start up my boat but I thought since I am getting it I should get one that would be able to start my diesel excursion as well. Anyone have any recommendations?

I don't know if they have enough juice, I'd try the one with the most power. How are battery packs rated, cca?

I have seen a couple with 275 to 300 CCA's. I don't know if that would do the trick.

Our batteries are like 800+ CCA and we have dual batteries. I doubt 275 would do the trick.

Reminds me of the time my truck batteries died in the long term parking up in San Jose airport. The security guy came around with his big power pack and I just laughed at him - he insisted it would work just fine, so we hooked it up and I subsequently sucked it completely dry in just two cranks of the engine. Had to wait for the passenger drop off van to come back around...

I have to agree. It would either suck the life out of the power pac or melt those tiny cables that they come with:banghead:
