    88mm turbo on stock engine?

i would like to install a 88 mm garrett ball bearing turbo off 2002 f250 7.3 on my truck, do i need to change anything to make it fit? like the pedestal or intake size etc. will it work well with my stock injectors and intercooler? will my lag get better or worse? thanks just want to make sure before i buy it.

You are probably referring to the GTP38R (has a compressor exducer diameter of 88mm). If so, that's a great turbo and a great upgrade. It will drop right in and works great with stock injectors. It won't affect your lag.

If the 88mm measurement is referring to inducer size, then you are talking about a GT47R. It won't fit and you won't be able to spool it.

    That sounds like it's probably a GTP38R.

FWIW, when people are discussing turbos, the inducer size on the compressor side is the number given 99.9% of the time. A GTP38R is a 66mm.
