    Oil change question

    Hey everyone,
I currently have 450 miles and I'm driving today to Lake County (Northern Ca) about 450 miles each way and be on Friday . Then when I get back I load up the trailer on Monday and travel to Austin, Texas 1450 miles each way and return the following Monday. So here is the big question. How many feet will I travel per day on my trip???
(Had to throw that in.) Should I change my oil before the trip to Austin or change it there ? 2nd question : Is it to soon to go to full synthetic , synthetic blend or stay with the regular oil.

    Re: Oil change question

I would have the oil changed at Sunrise before the trip to Austin and just have the truck checked out since you will be towing. I would hold off on synthetic oil until after about 10K miles.

    Re: Oil change question

An average of about 2,464,000 feet per day.

I'd hold off on the synthetic til about 10k.

If you're not towing, I'd do the full 5k on the break in oil.

Have a safe trip and enjoy the new truck and make sure you tell the bugs to stay off bacause it's new.
