Just joined the "I been smacked club"

At 4 this afternoon I was turning left off a 2 lane state highway into where we keep our horses when a Suburban passing me over the double yellow line smacked me just ahead of the rear wheel. Heard the turn signal ticking, the screech of tires, and the crunch of metal as we were shoved sideways. At least we weren't driving a Yugo!

Thanks guys, feel kinda like a James Bond Martini....shaken, not stirred.
Did I mention......no license!
That probably means no insurance.
But he wont be doing that again.....he got a ticket!
Talked to our Ins. Co. today and we should be getting a call from the body shop tomorrow to set up an appointment to get the ball rolling.
I kind of expect it to run $10 to $15k.....we shall see.
At least we're not in the hospital!
I wonder what we'll be driving to the meeting?

If insurance company is going to pay you for a factory replacement, find a used one and use the extra cash for upgrades.

When ya found out he did not have insurance you didn't use his head to fill the dent in your truck?

Good thing your in a Long Bed, if it was a short bed that could've been the rear axle pushed over to the passenger side, and that would have really sucked.

Good thing you walked away ok, and only feeling like a martini.

I didn't even know what kind of vehicle hit me till I jumped out of the truck. Looked at my truck, looked at him, then would've made a longshoreman blush! I never even heard his voice. He never even got out of his car till the officer taking information had him get out.
Where we were, everyone knew me and nobody knew him. I think the smartest thing he did was to stay in his car and wait for the cops. A big, ex-cop friend made sure he stayed between me and him , but I decided real quick I wasn't going to do anything, he just wasn't worth it.

Went to the body shop this afternoon.....they're not planning to replace the bed, they want to section it. And maybe the cab too.

I suggested the Yugo to the wife and got . After this she's even more of a fan of BIG!

Dropped it off this afternoon and picked up the rental.
Maybe we shoulda gone for the Yugo....
