    More Wheel issues !@#$%^&*

So some of you probably read my posting of my old rims being bent, and having to buy steel wheels. Basically my old aluminum wheels were bent, so i had to buy something quick and found a set of steel rock crawler wheels from 4 wheel parts for cheap.

I just found out that the max rating for these wheels are 2000 lbs. 2000lbs x 4 wheels is 8000 lbs. I called up pro comp and they said they can be up to 2500 lbs each = 10k lbs. This doesnt make me feel good about towing anything.

I spoke with 4 wheel parts and they were very good with customer service and said if i return the wheels, they will give me a credit to buy something else.

So now heres the dilemma, I want black wheels, but most of the black wheels are meant for the 05+ guys because the offset is so low the wheels are sunk in and will rub the leafs up front. I like the look of the wheels and tires sticking out a little bit.

I was thinking of lifting my truck 6 inches and going with some 37s. Only issues is money. My friend has a skyjacker z link system he might sell me in the early summer. So here are my options.

    1) Return steel wheels, and buy a set of used 16.5" rims for the meantime. When summer comes, buy the suspension system from my friend and get some 17's and 37's.

    2) Return steel wheels, get some 17's from 4 wheel parts and some 35's.

    3) Return steel wheels, get some 17's from 4 wheel parts and some 37's and buy a used 6 inch lift kit.

Does anyone know of anyone trying to sell some 17s with 35s or 37s and also a 6inch lift?

    Thanks.

I like your wheels raul, but i dont like how they tuck in so much. I want them to stick out more like mine do right now. My tires stick out about an inch and they are only 35's.

You wheels also seem like they are really for the 05+ because of the offset.

What do you think of these wheels? Boyd Coddington 17's

I like my boyds better, and they are sort of for sale with some Toyo 37's. Id consider swapping lifts too.

Go with a 17x9 4.5 offset and 35 12.50's wide enough for most tire specs, not too wide to stress ball joints. 17" to fit old and new trucks brakes when you want to sell them down the road.

Yes, my last truck was an '06 Superduty, liked it, just too much money to own, SMOG, register, build, and maintain.

You can order Amercan Racing wheels in almost any offset, it's a little more but I'd do that if I wanted a specific look on a wheel. My dad worked there for 15+ yrs and we made a few custom wheels for my cars over the years.

Whatever you do, ditch the 16.5s. Don't throw anymore money at them. I believe your tires are fairly new, so the tires by themselves should sell fairly easily. You could also sell the wheels and tires as a set, if you don't send the wheels back to 4WPW.

If you really want to keep the 16.5 tires and run them, you could get some used/surplus Hummer beadlocks (DOT approved) and have them re-drilled for a Ford bolt pattern and set the backspacing to your desire.
