    First trip to Glamis

Well we got back yesterday from our first trip to Glamis and we had a great time. We camped with a buddy of mine and couple of his friends. We were in the dunes most of the day and then went and checked out the Sand Drags towards the end of the day. Wow is there some nice sand cars out there.

Here's some pictures. I didn't get a lot of pictures because we were duning most of the time and we were camped at Wash 28 (might as well been mexico). It seemed like it took for ever to get back from the Sand Drags at night.

Thanks for the pics. I miss going out there. Got too crowded for us. I have bad been out there since the 60's so go figure.

That is a nice looking car you are in front of. Is that one yours? If so what do you have in it?

Once in awhile I think about selling my best horse to get another sand car... but love being with him so can't do that yet. Maybe never, but you never know.

I like the pics though. Brings back great memories. Takes me back and feels good.

I don't have any sand toys thats my buddy's Sand Cars Unlimited buggy. If I remember right he said it has a Northstar Engine (420 HP) and a Mendeola Transmission. He also said it is a mid level suspension car but I was really impressed with it. It handled the transitions from one bowl to the next really well. We had a blast in that thing, tearing up the bowls, going up Oldsmobile Hill and China Wall.

Looks like you had a blast. Any problems getting into wash 28 with the new Railroad Gates up? I'm heading out this friday, hopefully we can get into wash 12.

There was a PSD just like yours up there but with sand tires tearing up Oldsmobile Hill. It was bad azz watching the black smoke peaking thru the sand. I wish I would have gotten some pictures of it. btw..I didn't see you at the meeting but Raul said you were there, if I would have known Lisa and I would have said HI.

The RR fence ends right before Wash 28, I didn't check every Wash but it looked like each one had an opening of about 10 to 15 ft.

Well we just got back a couple hours ago. Great times for sure! Was a little windy this afternoon when we packed up and the traffic on the way home was killer!

We gotta put together a SoCAPS group trip to Glamis sometime soon!

Ditto on the SoCaps Glamis trip!!!

My whole family rides ATVs, and we have never been to Glamis. Don't really want to go on the big weekends because of the stupid stuff that happens, and so far my time-off schedule hasen't allowed us to get there during an off weekend. We would really like to go with a good group of people who have been there before and know all the in's and out's.

RAUL: BTW, if we can set this up, the offer is still open for the couch or queen air matress at the Sorensen family racing hotel-on-wheels if you need it.

the crowd is what has been keepin me from glamis, until this january I made the trek out there, had a blast. A customer of mine mentioned another spot to camp at which was away from all the madness, it was down off of olgilby rd right cross the freeway from butter cup. It was more of a family oriented area, no one rippin through your camp at all hours of the night. plenty of dunes to play in

We left Sunday about 4:00 PM. I wish we could have made it over to Pad 4 to say HI to you guys but I wasn't driving and we were on a tight schedule of tour de Glamis. Glamis is huge we went all over the place. I would be up for another Glamis trip but I would need some time to rent a trailer.

No problem man, glad you enjoyed it. Whole different experience in a sand car verses a dirt bike or quad thats for sure!

Ya, it was pretty crazy leaving my house Friday while it was snowing and pouring down rain and then we hit Palm Springs and it was blue skies from there on out.
