I have 15k on my 08 F350 and my glow plug harness is leaking again. This is the second one that they are doing. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why it would be a recurring issue or what else I should ask them to look at? My thought is that if it leaks once, put a new harness in. If it leaks twice, you dig until you find out why the harness is leaking.

I have 22000 on my 450. Havent done it yet. What did your truck do to make you aware of the problem. That way i can keep an eye out for it.
You will see a bunch of oil on the wires in the fenderwell and/or a bunch of 2 inch oil spots on the driveway. It is pretty obvious. It won't lose power, etc, it just loses a little oil.
I ended up calling the dealer and asking them to get me an explanation before proceeding on the same repair that didn't work a couple months ago. I got a call from the Dealership today. The Ford hotline said to check the oil dip stick. There have been a few isolated issues of dipstick tubes that have small pinholes in them which spits oil onto the glow plug harness and wires. They are waiting for the part and will replace it in the morning. Talk about strange.
I can tell you i have seen one oil dip stick tube with hole in it and sevral dip stick orings split.its the oring that goes on the end of the tube and into the pan.
My questions are how does a dipstick tube get a hole in it? How does the o-ring split? And why would oil gush out of there. Is it under high boost that causes it to spit?
Its from where they attact the mounting tab to the tube they burnt through the tube or develope a crack,Ive replace 3 for the exact same problem and when they leak they do leak good.hopefully thats it.
