Looks like the So Cal Diesel (Duramax) truck club is getting together on Jan 10 at Auto Club Dragway for some new year drag racing.

Looks like they might be running Casper to see how low into the 10's they can go with out going into the 9's and getting kicked off the track.:spin:

20 bucks to race. thats pretty cheap. but i think i will just spectate if i go. to many fast trucks gonna be there for me to race haha.

Maybe I can go not sure yet. So this would mean we are not going to meet at Barona on the 10th right? Just want to make sure I know what is going on.

They allow a max of 400 cars, they then divide the cars into groups of 10, I think? They give you a card with your group number. As your group gets called, you make your way to the front of the line they check off your card. Depending on track delay's (weather) and accidents (idiot ricers) you might get up to 4 passes which is normally the max allowed.
Now, if we get lucky for some strange reason, and a lot of cars don't show because the latest TOO Slow TOO Stupid, Rice King premiere comes out that day. Then we will be allowed more passes.

If everyone is up for this I will try and go. In some ways it seems far to go for a T&T to me. Does anyone down here want to ride along and share fuel costs?

Most of the guys I've ever heard of going are lucky to get 2 passes in. Barona seems like a better place if you're looking to actually make some passes.

Yea Mike and I went to Fontuky , spent the whole day there and got 1 pass what a waste of time for me.

i think i made 2 passes gene...lol ...that place is a hole in my opinion, and not worth going back. they hit their 400 car limit by 9am!! we had to find someone who didnt pass tech to get gene in, and i got the last tech card. we were there at 7:45... track was pretty fast..i went 12.30@114..i think gene went 11.xxx

Thanks for chiming in Gene and Mike. I remember this has been said before. I sure like running the 1/4 and a fast track is a great thing but...

Barona is only 12 miles from my house, there are some great racers there and you can get in 4-6 runs if you are there when racing starts. Only 1/8th mile though. and you have to go through the water box. I guess nothing is perfect... :D

They still make you go through the water box? I thought that got that taken care of.

They don't let you drive around it? That's how it was at Irwindale the last itme I got to go. 1/8th too but I got to run 6 passes one day in my car. It was a little tiring to keep the car cool and push it through the lanes. I always tried to get there with 1/4 tank and I end up on E by the end of the night.

Still a couple of weeks away. If the weather is good are you guys going to Fontana?
I think I will be at Barona. Don't want to tow all the way up to Fontana and chance only getting 1 run or none.
