    Wieght Distribution Hitch Verus Minivan

Well I just became a satistic yesterday when I got rearend coming into Ramona by an uninsured motorist. And yes the accident occured within three miles of the house. But luckily I always leave my hitch in. It was a low speed hit and I was at a complete stop. Here are the pics.

I'm going to have to replace the plastic on the bumper and that's it. Went and got my estimate this morning. The driver of the minivan will get off lucky, but she did get cited by CHP.

And yes the wife and I are completely fine. No airbags deployed and we always wear safetybelts.

Yeah we had green on the 78 and a transfer dump pulled into the lane of traffic which stopped everyone, except the one that had to use me as brakes....

yah always leave your hitch on.. i have had quite a few people rear end my truck.. mostly when its raining... people do not know how to freaken drive when its raining...

on a side note.. one of my cop buddies said their is a law against having the hitch on if your not towing something... something to do with preventing damage to the other vehicle lol...

I'd be trying to prevent damage to my vehicle. I've wanted to add a spike to a hitch but I do know that their is a law against it. LOL it'd be fun with tailgaters...

Same here, but I know someone in Cali would find a way to sue you. Either that or someone would walk by and stab themselves and sue you.

I'd poke myself first and throw it away. I hit myself on the hitch about every other day. But I know that if I don't have it I will get hit that day.

That was my biggest concern was that no one got hurt. And we were very thankfull that it was a low speed hit.

Gene Luckily I'll just have to snap in some plastic. That mini van is going to need a whole lot more.
