Might rub some paint off of your radius arm, no fender or liner contact though.
Might could go with a 37x12.50 on a stock wheel depending on you lift manufacturer, although this would require some trimming.
Double check the manufacture spec sheet for the brand of tire. Most have a minimum wheel width for the size of tire

The approved rim width for the 200-490 is 9.0-10.5" How wide are the stock 20's?

Factory 20's are 8.5" Wide, so are factory 18's.............
on another note: "approved rim width" is an excellent guide, but there are several thousand people out there driving on wheels that are skinnier than the approved width. Ever seen a dually on 37's? Even aftermarket duals are usually 6.5" wide, including dually Rockstars and Welds.
Although most places would not "recommend" it, .5" less than the manufacturer's recomendation wont hurt anything.
Yes the M/T is a 35x1250R20 (truly 35.04x12.20)meaning it will look less hilarious than the A/T which is only available in metric 325/60R20 (truly 35.12x 12.91") which is pretty wide.
Although, it would not be a bad idea to see if you can find some aftermarket wheels, 20x9.5" with 5-5.5" backspace would be perfect, and probably keep the tire from rubbing on the radius arm, which is almost a guarantee on the factory wheel.

If your tire is too wide for your rim it will tend to balloon in the center so running a lower pressure helps with this. Then it gets tricky when you need to air up for a load. It's give and take to get enough pressure and maintain proper contact patch on the road and not degrade the tire's load cap.

I run a 35/12.50 on an 17X8. It works but I have to watch pressure when I load it up. If I was to do it again I would run a 9" rim. A 10" wide or more rim puts extra strain on the stearing and suspension. Also too wide will put your tires too far outside your fenderwell and then you need fender flair or mud flaps to stay in the "letter of the law"
Your 8.5" shoud work well with 35/12.50, if they rub on the radious arm too much you can go with wheel spacers just make sure they are rated to the weight and load cap. of the truck.
