    Question about CCV MOD

I have been looking into doing the CCV mod on my truck but have a question or two before I do it.
First of all, I talked with one of my friends about the mod (he is a huge gas / turbo engine guy) and he mentioned something about causing it to change the vaccume and such and then causing problems with seals and other things. Is this possible? Can the mod have any negative effects long term or short at all?
Second of all, will the mod help prevent the turbo from dusting?
Last, just to make sure, stopping that oil from entering the turbo doesnt hurt it at all right?

The CCV mod is an excellent mod for the 7.3L. After cleaning up the oily mess the the ccv has made in your charge air plumbing, you won't have to worry about blowing boots off anymore.

As for vacuum and seals, as long as you are venting the crank case straight to the atmosphere, you are actually making things easier on the seals. We have a separate vacuum pump that handles the vacuum duties.

Dusting a turbo is due to leaks in the intake track or running a crappy filter like a K&N.

Also, the only function of the oil that enters the turbo is to make an enormous mess.

The only downside to the ccv mod is the bit of white "smoke" and slight oily odor that will come from the vent tube.

Both my trucks have the ccv mod done to them. I used the kit that ITP Diesel sells http://www.itpdiesel.com/store.php?c...on=show_detail

Take the bolts out of the ccv vent on the drivers side valve cover and turn the box around to the rear of the truck and bolt back inplace. Get a bunch of 3/4, 20' or so, heater or fuel vent type hose. Run the hose off the ccv box with a coupling to point it out to the side, then run the hose routed through the frame to the back of the truck (somewhere where it wont blow black crap on anything important). Plug the original ccv port in the intake with vacuum cap+hose clamp. Everything you need you can get at Kragen for less than $30.

For more details get ahold of Matteo, we did it on his truck in about 15 min.

    no kit required

And also diesel engines don't create huge vaccum that is needed in a gas engine. That's the reason we don't have a plate in the throtle body or even a throtle body at all...
    2000 F250 5.4 249k miles. K&N filter.
2001 F250 7.3 83k miles. Finally tuned DP Tuner, no start, 60 tow, 80 econ, 120 race, 140 agressive, airaid intake and magnaflow 4" turbo back.
