Cool 6.0 Psd Mystery...please Help Solve

Does this sound familiar to anyone? 4 diesel shops and still no results...no codes, no help.

Drove my 2005 Excursion to Fresno last week from San Diego. Broke down twice. Towed it to a diesel shop (Fresno Diesel), Ryan, good guy...sells Edge
    products and is knowledgable.

Problem started with throttle position...no indication throttle was being pushed at all, then a delayed throttle position action.

If it is doing this, and you turn it off, you're screwed...it will not resart. This has happened twice at least. Then, after towing, and sitting in shop or shade, it will start and have no problems...for a short time, then process starts again.

Each time (this has been going on for months) it pulls no codes, so no one has any idea whats up.

Ryan told me he thinks it may have 2 issues. Throttle Position Sensor, and FICM (fuel injection control module). when i was stuck yesterday, i called Ryan, he told me to throw cold water on the FICM (since the heat seams to be related (somehow) it actually worked, I got it started, and made it back to san diego (just didn't turn if off all the way).

Oh yeah, the Edge Juice has been disconnected for a month, so that is not the issue.

Look At The Ficm. See If There Is Water Intrusion On Or In It. It Also Could Be A Pedal Assy.

Thanks for your input. I've got it at Ford of El Cajon right now. So far, the mechanic is expecting to find exactly what you've described.

    We'll see.

    Thanks!
