Be sure to post back if you find a good buy. I don't need one right now, but if I get a good program to work my injectors a little harder, then I might be needing one also.
Some people say you need it and others say you can run without upgrading. I think it depends on the injector size and if the truck is a real early one or a 96-97. Definetely the 2000 and up unit is the best, but I'm not getting one until I decide if my next chip burn makes the oil pressure run out on long pulls.

Just got my 2 position chip back and my banks power pack chip is still a better performer. The high setting is about the same power as the banks, but the banks reponse is quite a bit superior. The banks chip won't set the check engine light when i stack a 10k mod on to drive up the ICP sensor some.

Resistor mod will fix that right up! I've got MD Stage II's and the ts chip and when I get past 3300 rpms the truck lays down, but when I crank the resistor over to the 4.7K position it pulls hard all the way to 4000rpms!

It's just a $5 potentiometer from radio shack. Put it in series with the 4.7K resistor. Now you have an adjustable resistor mod. What I noticed on mine was any other position the truck would lay down but when I had the pot cranked all the way it would pull hard up to 4000rpms.![]()

Yeah, but remeber the earlier trucks have a smaller HPOP and they will set a light if you ask to much out the fake icp signal via the resistor trick. Besides...gas mileage is in the toilet unless I take mine off. It is helpful to get the truck moving fast, but the top end seems to get impeded a bit due to the injection working against a higher oil pressure. Can't really explain it, but I guess it depends a lot on your turbos ability to get good air in to burn the fuel vs. the parasitics that the high injection pressure causes.
I want common rail... this is too much sometimes.
