There is a lot of oil in Alaska, don't know how much though. But I have been told there is a lot more than we have found before.
Gas will never will be 1.50 per gallon, it is all tax and politics.
My opinion - What is the easiest way to sell fuel efficient vehicles that car companies were required a few years back, raise fuel prices. I have a few others but that is the main one.
Oil companies do pump bought natural gas into the ground, it is called gas lift. Ours comes from Mojave Gas. It makes the heavier crud easier to lift.
Where I am based, we pump around 120,000 bbl per day of oil. imagine total production.
Where I stand right now, lets drill off shore more, lets drill in Alaska, lets just plain drill for oil without the thought of so many permits just to have out houses for the rough necks.
My fuel bill for may in my little 4-cyl 5-speed Tacoma last month just for work, 680. People at work still ask why I don't drive the Superduty to work. MMMMMMMM need a calculator. ;o)
