Pro series with the remote paging feature.

I have one and luv it. Nothing like having the edge on a punk and catching them in the act.

    Features I wanted:

    : Remote start

: Paging feature: There are two features I like about this. The first one is if I'm at a construction sight with no cell service, my guys can tap on the front windshield at a special point and the alarm will page the remote. An icon shows up on the remote that says someone is trying to get ahold of me.

The other feature paging feature I like is if my truck is getting broken into, towed etc... the alarm pages the remote and tells me what is happening.

: Anti Jack - neet feature. If I have the remote in my pocket and I get jacked at an intersection. Let the guy go down the street and then hit the remote. Engine shuts off.

: Multiple sensor imputs for varies alarm add-ons.

: Diesel mode - Press down on the parking break before turning the engine off. Then pull key out. Engine runs for two minutes to cool the turbo.

Feature I wanted but was not availble at the time but now is.

:TEmp control - Temperature sensor inside the vehicle can be pre set. For example if your running around in freezing winter and you want to keep the truck warm, just set it for 78. Truck starts and heats up then shuts off when the temp is reached.

watersurgeon - That sounds like a nice alarm system. I looked at the compustar site and there are many remotes listed under the compustar pro. Which remote do you have?

The model I have is about three years old. I bought it off of Ebay and installed it myself. Overall its been great. A couple of issues with my particular model.

    1. The remote is hard plastic so if you drop it, get it caught in a door etc.. you can damage the LCD. Done it twice and it cost me about $100.00 each time to replace the remote. I dropped one and lost half the screen. Also the battery door on my model sucks. The little locking devise that is suppose to hold the door shut looks like it was designed and installed by an eight year old Chinese kid.

    2. The pit falls of buying from ebay. Firstech will not warranty products bought on the net. That was not a big issue at first because the company I got mine through warrantied a main-brain issue about two months into it being installed. Unfortunatelly sometime last year they stopped selling on Ebay, and this was a company that had over 40,000 sales.

I found out through research that my particular model had an early problem with the main brain communicating with the antenna. Turns out my Antenna has the wrong color label on it and unfortunately I can't get ahold of the guy I bought it from to exchange it.

I have learned that one of the hidden facts of the internet is electronic manufactures regardless of the industry love to get rid of old and bad inventory through back channels. Sony, Panasonic, Onkyo, Compustar, you name it they all do it. They sell it of for pennies on the dollar and then put a disclaimer in there warranty that says that they will not warrant any product bought on the internet unless it is sold through an authorizied dealer, blah blah blah.

On a side note I did just recently figure out that if I seperate my remote from my key chain, it communicates with no problem with the main brain. Something with all the keys attached near it .

The unit I want to replace mine with is this one. P2WSS-AS
