    Lightbulb Windshield Wipers

Many of you may already know this...but, for those of you who are new to Super Duties or may have missed this, here is a cheap, useful upgrade:

The wipers on our trucks come stock as 20 inch.
Twenty four inch wipers fit just perfectly and give a "picture window" view through a rainy windshield.

Why don't they come stock with 24" wipers?? Over the years the only reason I can find is that perhaps with a heavy snow load on the wipers, the motor may become overloaded. With just rain, or light snow the 24" work just fine!!! Have converted many trucks over the years and am always amazed at how well they work and the extra viewing area is outstanding!!

Maybe a little late posting this this year (rainy season almost over), but it's something you may want to upgrade when you need new wipers!!

The only downside (not really a problem, but just a note) is that when you lift the passenger side wiper off the windshield (like when you clean your windshield), it will very slightly hit the antenna and you will have to guide it.

As an extra tidbit on wipers, the last set of wipers I bought for my Excursion were the Bosch Icon wipers. These wipers are designed similar to the European wipers that come on Mercedes, Audi, etc. The Bosch Icon wipers work great. They are smooth running across the glass, with no chatter. They look alot more sleek too as compared to the stock wipers.

The downside is that they are probably the most expensive wiper at your local auto parts store. When I purchased them, Kragen had a sale and a rebate too, so the price wasn't as bad.
