$1.89.9 in San Gabriel Valley. Some stations in this area are as high as $2.29, but, who would go there?

Man, I got so excited today I changed the oil and filter, added 4oz. friction modifier in the rear end, then changed the fuel filter. Almost seems like a waste of time when I could have been driving around just for the fun of it. Rotated the tires last week, so all ready for the next get together. In the meantime we're going to Laughlin Nevada for a week. Maybe I'll have to rent a trailer to bring home all the winnings. Anyway, I can dream can't I.

    Re: DIESEL PRICES

Yea - from half a tank! With the transfer flow in place I fill up at half a tank now just so it doesnt hurt so much! Filling up from empty is over $100 at $1.89 (best I can find) typical is $1.93 around here.

On the same note - heard that Mexico has dropped price matching of fuel in the border cities because fuel is cheaper in Mexico now. I may look into making bi-monthly trips to TJ for a cervesa & fillup.

I dream of $1.8s ours $1.99 - 2.11 they blame it on extra transportation costs. Yeah right. Really no fun. Gonna have to hit the boss up for an increase in my mialage allownace.

    VW TDI.....49mpg

Car payment 200-225 a month...25 bucks in fuel.....along of driving.

With the amount of fuel that run through the truck.....it would virtually cheaper to get the VW and drive it.

49mpg.....what a nice sound that has right now!

It's not bad at all. A little more sulphur than US diesel, but otherwise fine. The only real worry in Baja is buying from remote low volume sources. Lots of water in their tanks at those places (Racor fuel/water seperator a must). Any of the big towns go through enough to keep the tanks dry though. I just filled up in Guerrero Negro last week and didnt feel or see any difference in the way the truck ran. Filters are still clean too.

    Re: DIESEL PRICES

Just paid $1.89 here in San Diego at the Chevron off the 78 and Rancho Santa Fe Road. NOt bad since the cheap unleaded was $2.15 at the same station. Another station in Escondido was charging over $4/Gal for cheap unleaded!! His prices made the 6:00 news.

    Re: DIESEL PRICES

I'm looking at $1.89-$2.10 in North Orange county. I have to agree with the pain in my wallet when I go to the pump

What really sucks is the prices are going to go higher. I think we SHOULD take out Iraq and PUMP for free for the next few years ......Oh well, it's just a thought!

    Re: DIESEL PRICES

IT SEEMS I HEARD SOMEWHERE THAT THESE HIGH PRICES DONT EVEN HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE WAR OR IRAQ BUT INSTEAD HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH VENEZUELA OR BRAZIL, ONE OF THE TWO, BUT DONT KNOW THE REASON. ANYONE KNOW?....ROB
