Installed a Coolant Filter today.
I bought the filter and base from Carquest.
Total was less than 100 installed.
I did not want to cut the heater hose so I did it a little different.
I installed a bigger hose prior to this from the EGR cooler to the degaus bottle.
Which so far the truck has not puked since this even towing with a tow tune from DJ or Innovative. With the filter it should flow even more having (2) routes to choose.
I taped into that line and ran that same size line to the filter inlet which is mounted on the bolt for the intercooler. I have a Spearco, so I do not have the stock bolt for the intercooler.
Ran 3/8" line from EGR cooler tee to degaus bottle. 3/8" line from outlet of filter into the tee in the return from the radiator to degaus bottle like all the other kits. Seems to be working, both lines and filter gets hot from just 10 minutes worth of driving.
I will cut this filter open if it clogs or after a couple of months if it does not clog.
I have flushed my cooling system twice prior to this, so some of the crap might be out of the system.
