I bought a new radio from a friend who has an 03 F-250, and I wanted to know what tool I can use to get my radio out of my 05 and put the one from the 03 into it. My old radio is just an am/fm. Is the one out of the 03 going to work in my truck? The one out of the 03 is a 6 disc cd player. Thanks for any help guys!
I'm not sure if the '03 radio will fit without some mounting modification. I think the '03 slides in and is held by spring clips...the '05 is held by screws.
No special tools are needed to remove the '05. You remove the dash cover and then there are 4 screws (7mm) holding the radio in place.
