    Jacking a lifted F250

I'm encountering a dilemma that I know most of you have come across at one time or another... How do I jack up my truck to change a tire on the road/trail (without lugging around a floor jack)???

I have the 60" HiLift jack, but haven't found a good way to get each of the 4 corners off the ground without doing damage to anything... Up front, I suppose I can use the tow hooks, although these don't look like a very stable lifting point due to possibility of the jack's lifting lip slipping off. The HiLift Tire Adapter doesn't also seem to do the job b/c of the wheel offset - the "block" on this adapter pushes into the sidewall of the tire, which I don't want unseating the tire's bead in my face.

What about changing the back tires? The trailer hitch isn't a good idea b/c of it being centrally balanced, which makes the truck sway once the tires leave contact w/ the ground...

Any other thoughts? Am I stuck with getting a bumper with proper lift points?

    HELP!

    Question

Instead of lifting the body, why not use a bottle jack under the axle?

About a 3 ton hydraulic bottle jack with an extension screw and a block (or two) of wood should do it nicely!

Depend how big your tires are. You can use your stock jack, if it's too low keep a few blocks of wood or anything that you can use as a spacer. I use my factory jack on my truck with 38" tires
