I'm not sure why there is so much incorrect info out there, but here is a page from the Ford web site:
http://www.fordvehicles.com/trucks/s...eatures/specs/
Down from the top of the page just a bit, it will say "Super Duty Specifications". Just below that, click the the box that says "Capacities".
Where it shows two capacities in the box...one is short bed, the other is long bed.
Short bed....30.5 gal.
Long bed.....38 gal.
=======================================
Just for info, here are the capacities for the 2007 and older 6.0L:
Short bed....29 gal.
Long bed.....38 gal.

my fuel tanks are metal. I thought that was strange. I've had plastic ones on the 00, 04, 05 and 06 models.
I pumped 16 gallons in the front one and 35 gallons in the rear. They're supposed to be 19F and 40R per ford's specs. I still had about 40 miles to empty on each, as I recall.
