Big Red Started....but noticed another problem....

....for 100K miles its been awesome....

But in the process of the trying to fix the "no start" yesterday, I noticed that the crank, cps, lower hose....and not to mention the drops on my forehead working under the truck of coolant.

The water pump is toast. Been noticing the coolant level dropping and a nice smell here and there.

Thing is the hardest part looks to be getting the fan clutch off. Any ideas???? I think there is a special tool??? Does anyone have one or know where I can find one???

47K on the first....about 57K on this one.....Seems to go to hell right about at the same interval as when your suppose to do the coolant flush.

Oh well its time for hoses, and belts anyways:) What do you guys think of that 203 thermostat???

I posted this on your other thread, but is more appropriate here.

That is not that many miles on a water pump! Is there a aftermarket model that will last longer and maybe perform better?

As for the 203* thermostat, I have heard a lot of positive things regarding it. I asked Bob Riley about it for the 6.0L and they did not have anything for it yet, but it made a difference with the 7.3 For $35 it is worth a try.

    Max,

It's all a conspiracy, Bobby Williams will do anything to sell you a new truck. Probably so you will have one with less HP than his..... LMAO..

Good Luck, Your 100,000 mile problems are something I am not looking forward to.

    LOL!!!

Bobby really doesn't want me to get a 6.0L...because if can do this with a 7.3L....imaging the HP if I got my hands on a 6.0?????

Although a 6.0 True Blue Sport 4x4 with a moonroof would be real nice.

MAx go to ford they have a retro kit for the fan clutch problem which is a CHEAP way to get all those parts. You get a belt, tentioner, waterpump pully, for $35.00. Part # 2C3Z8620AA
Napa has the best price on a water pump and it is NEW not rebuilt and it has a lifetime warrentee. Can you tell I've been there done that?
We will be there Friday, Saturday & Sunday. And Gene has his fan clutch tools.

You mean the race to be the only true competion between men, a foot race!

Dennis........ In my case it would be a race for only one foot.

But you guys, I think about one mile would be perfect. Survivor, I mean winner takes all.
