From what I have heard, since the cost of formulating the ultra low sulfer diesel fuel was so much, they decided to raise the cost of fuel before its release to keep it from costing $4.00/gallon.
I call BS on the oil companies. If any one company can profit 200 billion/quarter, there is some gouging going on. That is one of the reasons I run soybean oil.

Veggie is cheaper and will help keep the fuel system lubricated. Too bad it is too cold for me to run 50-50. I have to use no more than 5 gallons per tank and it is still kind of hard to start in the morning. Seriously, everyone should do their own research on veggie oil to see if they want to do it. I am not saying go get the used stuff, look into the new oil at Costco.

I left for Maui last week and diesel near my house in the city of San Gabriel was $2.68. I figured I would fuel up when I got back from my trip to see if prices went down :slap:.

While I was in Maui, I noticed that all of the stations sold fuel at the same price, 3.09, 3.19, and 3.29. It didn't matter where I went within a 45 minute drive, all of the prices were the same. When it came to diesel, it was $3.69 :jawdrop:

Now that I'm back home, I role past the local Union 76 only to find that diesel fuel has gone back up to $2.99  around here. What's goin' on?

I haven't fueled up in a while and was shocked to see the prices rise about 40 to 50 cents per gallon in the last few weeks.

Are the truckers going to boycott and circle the captial building again?

$3.09 is the best I can find locally. It just doesn't seem right since we've had this ULSD since 6/06. Gouging?? again?

I'm not a big "government oversight" kind of person, but...I think this might require some looking into.

Either make it $6 a gallon or $2.50 a gallon. Either way, I'd be happier.

$6 would be less traffic and $2.50 would just make me feel better sitting in it.

Found an Arco in Costa Mesa off the 55 and Baker, still selling Diesel for 2.97 a gallon. It is close to work so I have been filling up there. The station around the corner in Santa Ana wants 3.15 a gallon.
