I just got my new PSD 6.0L. Am I required to get it smogged every two years like a gas motor?

Negative... (for now anyways) Just keep the tags paid up, that's it.
SOLD--97 F250 HD Reg cab XL: Banks Powerpack, factory catalyst-yes or no- have pipe, AFE intake... 4.10's, Detroit Locker, E40D (John Wood version) - 6 liter torque converter, auto hubs, 285/75-16 bfg's . A little of this and that.
First 4 years, no car is required to get smogged unless it for change of ownership, then its every 2 years.
Diesels are exempt period, unless its a fleet, then there is opacity tests required by the state.
So then can you do away with all the smog stuff on the truck?
You can take it off if you want just keep hold of it, just in case they start testing.

Personally I would not take it off.
If you remove the cat and need service - Ford will be very upset.
I am not sure what they will do, but when I asked my Ford service rep about installing a new exhaust and if they have any warranty issues if I do. His only response was "As long as you keep the cat on they don't mind."
