Auto electrician??

Do we have an auto electrician in SOCAPS?? My wife is considering purchasing
a set of 2003 signal mirros for me for Christmas. I read a lot of the posts and
had some very good in put from a couple of guys on thedieselstop. I would like
to use a rear window defogger switch on the new mirrors, but the switch I was
able to find came out of a early model Ford Taurus. I received some excellent
advice on wire color, etc. The switch has letters embossed inside "S" "L" "B" "I"
"G" "L" has a 12 gauge brown wire with light blue tracer, and "B" has a 12 guage
black wire with yellow tracer. "L" is an 18 guage light blue with a red tracer,
"I" is an 18 guage purple with a orange tracer, and "G" is an 18 guage black wire.

If I cannot find out for certain which wire goes where, I'll have to wire the new
mirrors up without using the switch. I do not want to short out something that can
be very expensive.

Use the 93 Explorer switch

Jim I don't know what else to tell you that is not in the original thread.
Whooosh, I sure didn't think something like getting signal mirrors would
create such a problem.

If you can trace it out, e-mail it to me at, arnrubble@aol.com, I have a hearing
problem, and I don't want to miss any important items if we discus it on the phone.

Any way, I appreciate your efforts in my behalf.
Do we have a graemlin for lifting the tonofbricks?

Max, why do you say that -- Is the 93 wired differently.

I could not find a 93 in the junk yard -- are you saying

go to the dealer and order one?

The 93 Explorer one has the built in timer, lights up, and fits good in the dash. You can see mine if ur at the dyno day.

The only thing better than knowing what to do is knowing someone who does.
I received a copy of the electrical schematic for the light switch I have.
