    boost

    Can any one tell me what the factory boost presure should be on my 96 PSD(stock exhaust no muff. no kitty, intake).Should my intercooler give more boost or not. Thanks Slade.
    96 psd, cc, lb, 6" skyjacker lift, 37" nitto mud grapplers, eagle alloy type 114 wheels 17x10, triple shocks,jaguar print interior,tinted around, white, intercooled , intake, 3 1/2"down tube, str8 exhast, 8" exhust tip.

    Just got your latest pm.

    From all I've read, 40psi seems to be the magic number where you should start worrying about head studs and all that. I can only do 36 and do it very rarely (trying to conserve my turbo) and should be safe.

    Sounds like you'll be in the 18ish normally, but the intercooler may drop that by a psi or two. Larger volume of air after the turbo means it'll take a little longer to compress and build boost, and will likely lower your max boost a hair.

    sustained boost into the 30's will trash your turbo fast and like ryan said the magic head gasket number seems to be 40's

    i lost approx 2 psi through the ic but my intake temps were down considerably.
    97 F250HD SUPERCAB 4X4 5speed FLATBED, 200k a little of this and alot of that.

    Yeah I normally lay off around 25 or so unless I am really in a hurry.
