Give Dale a call at 509-922-8785. His dad just past away in the last week or so, so it might be a week or so until he is ready to get any orders taken care of. You will love his kit. Do yourself a favor and get 1 or 2 extra filters. It beats having to order them when you need one and 1 filter last a good year or so even in dirty conditions.

Re: Tymar air intake and battery tray

A little TYMAR history..... Dale coined the term "TYMAR".
TYMAR means Take Your Money And Run...
Dale Isely wanted to find a way to get a good intake without shelling out big $$$ for the aftermarket ones. Being that the cotton gause filters have been suspect to letting dirt by, he went out to find the biggest paper element filter that would fit in the PSD's. The Donaldson was the filter he chose to use and flows more air than those aftermarket kits. He got some 4 inch exhaust parts (45 degree elbow) and it fit perfectly. While he was doing this, I made my own poor mans version. Same filter but I used ABS PVC to make it work. But for the SD's, you have to relocate the battery. Very simple kit that works so well it should be patented.

So what filter on this list flows the best?

    WIX # 42790
    Donaldson # B085011
    Baldwin # PA2820
    Hastings # AF1012
    Fleetgaurd # AH19037

    LUBER-FINER# LAF2531

    Fleetrite # AHR819037
    Fram # CA6818
    UNI # 908
    Cummins # AH19037

& are they all the same physical size?

I'm figuring for now I'll just do this being I'm unemployed. :(

But do the aftermarket Cold air kits really give you more seat of your pants performance difference compared to a TYMAR?

Just pick up a Napa #6637 filter, a short piece of 4" exhaust tubing, rip out the factory air box and put the two pieces together. That's pretty much all it is. Much cheaper if you do it on you're own. You don't need the battery tray either. Just rip out the air box part. You can leave the rest or cut it out.

    To far for me.

But what do you think are the best sorce's for the 4" tube?

    PVC?
    Muffler pipe?

    Whats cheaper & flow best?

what has smoother lines & cost less?

I'm thinking of starting this tomorrow...

& what about the things connected to the factory air filter box?
