Blue white Smoke

I'm new to this site and hope someone can help. I just bought my 2006 F250 Diesel. After 100 miles, I bought and Edge Juice w/ attitude chip tuner, in addition to other mods. I have noticed since it was new that the truck puts out blue white smoke when I take off, cold or warm. It has gotten worse. It's oil because I ran 2 quarts low in 700 miles. Some say it may be something that goes away after a few thousand miles. Some say it's bad injector seals. I say I need help. Please post or email any knowledge of this problem. I've always had Chevy's and this is my first new Ford. I'd hate to think I made a mistake. PS- with the Edge Chip, it moves!!

wow...i wonder if puttin mods on that soon didnt have something to do with it. i think your supposed to break them in a little first. im sure youll get some good advice on here. welcome to the boards!!!!!

ps i was a chevy guy too!! thats the one thing i havent regretted doing !

you may be right, I wonder that too. I'm taking the Edge out this week and taking it to Ford. We'll see. You a Havasu guy? I just got back Sunday. Good weekend

I sat in one 05 and started it up. It smoked blue/white smoke.
There was oil dripping out of the tailpipe after a while.
I think it was a seal in the turbo (bearing seal?). Anyway, should be a warranty fix.
Might want to let your truck break in a bit before adding the big power mods.

Also, get some gagues. At least an EGT (pyromoter) gauge.

My Edge chip has all the gauges, They work great. I'm gonna run it stock a while and put it back in later. Hind sight is 20/20

When cold my 05 seems to smoke at idle after I drive it for a few miles then stop at a stop sign or signal, it goes away when I romp the pedal or continue to drive it to a complete operating temperature.I am very positive that it is fuel due to the very white color and odor and the fact that the truck does not use any oil.

Well, I got my truck back from the dealer and guess what they said? "We can't find the problem." They did a compression check, turbo downpipe check, CAC check and visual inspections all over. Their advice... drive it some more and let's see if it gets better or worse. I was fine with that because I didn't want them to start pulling the heads off and ripping my new truck apart. Regardless, if it gets worse, or breaks down, they'll fix it. So for now I will be logging my mileage and oil consumption and letting the dealer know my progress. I will update in the future if anyone is interested. Thanks for the posts thus far.

do you have any oil present in your tailpipe (behind the rear tire)? Check with your finger. it should not have any oil in there.
I saw a couple 05's that were new and did. They puffed smoke also.

Sounds like a simple problem.

I'll have to check for the oil in the tailpipe thing. I looked in there this weekend and I saw was that the exhaust tip that I just cleaned out turned black inside real fast.

Black in the tip is normal.
Oil in the tip is not.
