    labor day mishap

This labor day weekend I spent at Lake San Antonio near San Luis Obispo. This guy was at the camp across part of the lake from us. He thought that he could load his sea-doo into the lake not using the launch ramp. This is the aftermath of that "great idea": pics of the stuck truck

There is a pic of the tow truck that could not wench him out, and story ends with 3 trucks at once pulling to get this guy out!!!
Moral of the story: Use the launch ramp!!

He looks like he has the same prob as most peeps that get stuck in Pismo, bury it to your axles, and then ask for help. Lots of wieght to have to get out.

    Re: labor day mishap

It could have worked, we used to do that all the time at mission bay or sometimes at lake mojave since the concrete boat ramps are so busy with the real boats.

    1) maybe tried it in 2wd and started to dig in.
    2) a $1200 winch would have been way more useful than 20 inch dubs
    3) aired up low pro rubber isn't very useful (I bet the load rating isn't very good either).
    4) why lift the truck so much if the rear arms high center that easily? (rhetorical question btw)
    5) A 30 foot tow strap and a decent attitude would have produced a volunteer to help pull it out. I bet that guy doesn't even have a tire pressure gauge in his glove box.

    and lastly,
    6) jet skis aren't that heavy, the stupid trailer would have been wet with the trucks rear tires out of the lake.

thx 4 the laugh. I hate newbs though, they perpetuate the hatred of watercraft.

    Re: labor day mishap

Yep at Isabella we always just off road em, you kinda have to at most of the areas. Mostly problem free though.

I went to winch someone out and then ended up getting stuck on the way back right on the shoreline Took the winch to my friend's truck, and a strap from his to a suburban to get me out. Was about as deep as that guy, 'cept I have no lift.

    Re: labor day mishap

That's exactly why, I love my stock wheels, yes they are small, but I have alot of tire, and when aired down, works awesome, I wonder if he would of aired down if it wouldn't of helped him anyway because of the bling bling rims. Not a big fan of lifted truck with huge bling bling and low pro tires. I second the well said mike!
Big thanks to Bud and Matt for getting me back on the road!
