    SoCAPS Billet Receiver Hitch Covers

    I have been asked by many of you about making a billet aluminum SoCAPS receiver hitch cover. I am working with a machine shop that makes custom receiver hitch covers. I made up a file and submitted it to the shop for quote. If you are interested in a SoCAPS reciever hitch cover, please let me know. The guy usually gets about $65 a piece for these and I am trying to get him down to about $40. If I have some solid orders, I should be able to get the price down.

    The oval is the same size as the Ford oval in the 99-04 Super Duty grill. He will use 1/4 thick billet aluminum welded to aluminum box tubing. These will not be glued onto a plastic blank. They are BEEFY! Below is a rendering of the CAD file that I sent to the machinest. I should get a prototype in a week along with a price quote for different quantities.

    I got pictures of the real thing with a price quote.

    10 or less - $45 each
    11 - 20 - $40 each
    21 - 30 - $35 each

    These are made out of aluminum and are not plastic. The male half of the receiver is recessed into the badge and welded. I will be painting these and I can do some custom colors if you wish. Please let me know if you want to place an order. I thought we would leave this up for 2-3 weeks and then place the order. Let me know your thoughts. Talk to you all soon.
