Extended Warranty for a F350 with a 6.0 L Diesel?

My 2006 F350 with a Power Stroke Turbo Diesel just left the Louiseville plant yesterday and will be out here in California next week.

Question: I would like to know if the folks in this Forum think it is worth purchasing the extended warranty? Comments?

Question: Does anyone know how much the extended warranty will cost? (I negotiated the price of the truck in advance, but the dealer wanted to wait on the extended warranty negotiation).

You probably know the answers to these questions, but I usually don't buy these things.

Is it an extended warr. thru the manufacturer or an outside service insurance group?

how picky is ford or any other shop about honoring these contracts?

and do you like mods?

The Ford dealer offered me $1800 for zero deductable, but I went with the credit union for $1000. Thats for 6 years 100K.

I was quoted 3,500.00 for the extended, bumper to bumper warranty to 100k. The engine already comes with a 100k warranty, however that's only the engine. Tranny, rear end and 4x4 components, if equipped are 3/36.

Nah, I meant that 7.3's are all bulletproof. lol

Your 6.0 probably just has a bad ebp sensor. (maybe EGR)

I seem to recall Sanger telling me he pretty much drove over his crankshaft on his 7.3 superduty right after the banks powerpack was put on.
