    Fuel Mileage II

I now have almost 7K miles on the truck, and on my trip to AZ last weekend I averaged about 90mph and 14mpg and on the way back I set the cruize at 2000rpm (70mph) and wound up with 21mpg. She's loosening up; thanks again for all the advice and Happy New Year to all.

You will find that the closer you keep it to 2000 RPM, you will get awesome mileage.

In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England 's Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America , he said:
"A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in... And how many want out." Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
    1. Jesus Christ
    2. The American G. I.
One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

I havnt gone too fast yet with the new gears....I will say though, doing 70 (actually its about 78 since I don't have a Truespeed yet), the RPM's are around (if I remember correctly) 2600 or 2700.....I will test it tomorrow cause I'm off work .

    Just a note:

with 37" tires (calculated as 36.7" OD, 3.73 rear end (because your computer doesn't know any different), your actually going 82 to 83mph at your indicated 70mph.

    ...Thus...your high RPM's.

Your 4.56's with the 37's are a little steeper than the 3.73's were with the stock tires (you have "lower than stock gears"). Can't really compare the speedo with RPM's ..it's apples and oranges.

    PS: slow down
