Driveline Shudder and maybe some spring wrap - help needed

As my sig indicates, I have the 3" Edge plus 2" mini packs in the front and the stock F350 blocks stacked with 2" more block. The truck is just about level with slight squat in the rear.

I also have the carrier bearing drop kit and adj track bar.

My question: Starting off the line I have a bit of shudder. I realize there must be some spring wrap too. It's not too bad but noticable. Is it normal for this lift and just accept it? Is there something I can do to fix it?

I like the height and will probably get a cabover camper and airbags next year. I also tow a 3k lb. ski boat in the summer.

Any suggestions? Lift expert(s) - Tom?

    Thanks in advance.

    Depends on your angles.

I'm sure you can play around with the carrier bearing mount a bit (1/4" per 1" of lift is the general rule), so...try between 1/4" and 1". I used washers to make equal stacks and the them in for testing purposes.
When I was done, I put in a proper spacer.

    Well, ok..when I was done, I had a one-piece driveshaft w/ a CV joint, but...I'm wierd like that.

under load, the increased angles are going to cause the center support (Carrier bearing) to move around a bit. Maybe this is what you're feeling.

Make sure you're not binding up the ujoint at the pinion.
Tall blocks like that make for a LOT of axle wrap.

Have a buddy drive the truck away from you, if you want to see for yourself.

    You probably need traction bars.

    Truck camper....MMmmm.... me likey.

I'll try it. Ya think 6" springs in the rear will help the wrap? Getting rid of the blocks all together?

I'd rather do traction bars as the last resort if I could.

    Thanks,

6" spring should help a lot.

Also, if the spring has a double wrap (military wrap) at the front mounting point (hanger), that will help a bit, as well.

What do you recommend a nice riding spring? I figure I can make up for load carrying with the Bags??

Rear springs are all pretty stiff.
I would go with a 6" deaver spring.
Call jeff at deaver and he can set you straight.

Air bags will definitely help the load.
As I found out in a previous post here, the 2071 Firestones are the recommended kit.

I had a pretty bad shutter after my 8" lift. I just had traction bars installed, and most of the shutter went away. I still feel it slightly, but not nearly as bad. I don't mind the tiny shutter, as long as I know the traction bars are on there, especially when I'm towing my TT.
