    Dana 60.

50's were only in 99 to 2000 models.

    Re: Front axle

I am going to have Woodman do my gear swap. I just need to find a date that I can get out to his shop. He at least knows what he is doing. I will never set foot at 4WP again after the BS they did with my lift. Or I should say DID NOT do.

    Re: Front axle

That sux that people like ourselves have to deal with this stuff.... I should just do the work myself, but my time is pretty limited. Max, do you know where I can purchase all the parts to swap out my gearing to a 4.56?

4WP has had my set on order for over a month and a half, maybe longer.

    Thanks for the info,
    Chris

Max, what ratio are you going to run. I was thinking of going to 4:30's. I was reading a post on TDS on the gear swap thing. Let me know.

    Re: Front axle

I am going to have 4:30's installed. When I talked to Woodman, he recommended the factory Ford gears for the 4:30's and he located me a set. He also recommend another manufacture, but I don't recall the name.

    Re: Front axle

Hey maXRSmart I'm sure you will, but could you please post your results and thoughts about driving and towing with the 4.30's. I have a 4x4 6spd with the MBRP duals, 160 Quad, 35's and I need some more low end grunt when pulling the trailer. I can't decide between the 4.10's or 4.30's.

    Re: Front axle

You have basically the same setup as I do except I have a 4X2. I want more low end grunt and with the 4:30's and 35" tires, it will be like a stock truck with 3:92's instead of 3:73's. If your going to be doing a lot of towing, I would go for the 4:30's. Here is a cool calculator to help you figure out ratios.

    Axle Ratio/Tire Size Calculator

Right now my truck is equal to a stock truck with 3:40's!! Not so great for towing.
