New Drag Strip in San Diego!!

Barona Indian Reservation just built a new 1/8 mile dragstrip out near Ramona. The grand opening is this Friday night (6/20). It is the first track to be built in over 30 years. Here is a link to their site.

That's cool, I had no idea. I'm kind of a recovering drag/street racer and don't have anything fast. Ironically, I live so close to Carlsbad Raceway that I could walk to the front gate. I like the sound on Saturday afternoons.

P.S. I used to street race when it was still relatively legal in the early 90's. I won't be going to the strip in a diesel truck unless I can at least hit a 14.9 .

Get a 6.0L Diesel and you can easily do 14.9! I work very close to Carlsbad Raceway. I have yet to race there, but maybe we can have a SoCAPS there soon.

    Mike......

The drags are just fun. My truck runs 17.1 @ 79 MPH. My daughter's truck runs 17.2 @ 79 MPH. I figure not bad for an 8000 pound vehicle!!

Last week at the drags in Palmdale some guy was running a motor home!! I have no idea what the engine was, but he ran 22 seconds!

I saw a guy at Cruise N Grand in Escondido that brought a OLD motorhome to the event. He must of had everything in the back of this thing because he was doing wheel stands with it!!! The police on site did not find it that amusing.

Well ok, but I have to get more power down at least so I can hang with a gas powered 6.0 chevy or dodge hemi or maybe I can "smoke" a civic so I can feel good about making someone else feel stupid. That's what running a sleeper is all about.

I got this 97 so I could just pay for it and buy toys, but I did drive the 6.0 PSD... my hands are shaking because if I can figure out how to swing the payments...
