    Fuel Mileage

Anyone have any idea why I am only seeing approx 15mpg with mostly freeway driving (No Load), and what I can do to improve it?

    "...only seeing approx 15mpg..."
Same mileage I'm getting!! (And got in my older truck.)
I'd say that is the average for these trucks.

And, note: Freeway driving means different things to different people! Heavy foot or light foot driving on the same freeway will obviously get differing mileages!!
(The PSI at the go pedal is more important than the PSI in the cylinders!)

    Re: Fuel Mileage

Your truck will break in sooner or later. I picked up about 2.5mpg (average) after about 10k miles.

    Also, speed kills mileage.

65 is not the same as 75 to your fuel tank.

Most people who claim good mileage are going slower and not doing jackrabbit starts.

    I think I've gotten 12mpg on one tank (unloaded)...but I was in a hurry.

    Re: Fuel Mileage

I average about 17-18 MPG with 50/50 mixed driving. I can get over 20 with freeway only driving. I also have a 4X2, so that helps with the mileage. Like the other have said, wait until it breaks in. Another thing is what position do you leave the climate control in? The AC will cycle in all the positions except for the Vent and Off positions.

no AC in floor only position, either (floor with defrost = AC)

Thanks for all the info. I typically enjoy exploiting the power of the PSD; that could be an issue. What about programmers and the like? any input?

I gained 1 MPG by adding a chip. Power mods seem to help mileage on a diesel.
