As we are about to put 2011 into the past, I thought this would be a good time to reflect on SoCAPS's 2011 year.

SoCAPS held four major events during the year:
March 6th - 8th Anniversary meeting at Sunrise Ford, Fontana and lunch hosted/catered by Del Taco
June 19th - Joint meeting with Southern California Diesel Trucks Club at the Irwindale West Coast Custom Rigs show and drags
August 21st - 4th "annual" Poker Run and lunch hosted by SoCAPS
December 4th - Docent guided tour of the Petersen Automotive Museum with lunch hosted by SoCAPS at Johnny Rocket's

One of the founding members, Gene (WeWeld), left to return to his roots in the Midwest. Gene was the club's "go to guy" for diesel knowledge and the cook for our events. When Gene left SoCAPS, we also lost his wife at the time, Sheryl (StickyFingers), who was our treasurer and always a smiling face at our meetings.

With Gene and Sheryl gone, we got replacement moderators for the site: PowerStrokeMike and Ms.Sanger. BillD took over the title of Treasurer.

At the end of 2010, Ford began manufacturing their own diesel (no more International) 6.7L Power Stroke engine and in 2011 many people said it's the best Power Stroke yet!!

In 2011 our sponsors continued their support of us. Sunrise Ford continued its support of offering OEM Ford parts at a discount (beating any price I could find anywhere) to members. We picked up four new sponsors: Carli Suspension, Domestic Diesel, Bullet Proof Diesel, and Empire Line-X.

Our SoCAPS president, Bobby Williams (BWilliams) continued to be the person to see if you wanted a new Ford.

As we close out 2011, the cumulative statistics for the site show:

Over the years we've seen SoCAPS change, have its ups and downs, and continue to grow. SoCAPS is an awesome local, family oriented, Ford diesel community. One of our motto's might be "Members Helping Members"...there is always someone willing to help with information, trade parts, loan equipment, or meet and help work on something.

On behalf of SoCAPS I wish all the members and their families a Very Happy, Prosperous, and Healthy New Year!!

And special mention of the site moderators and event volunteers who gave/give their time to make the SoCAPS site and events the success they have been!!

Well good ridance to 2011. It went by fast but sometimes not fast enough it seems. I did not have personally prosperus 2011. I am shaking off the past and looking forward to a better, happier, healthier New Year! Hope everyone here has a uplifting New Year also.

See you at the annual event in March. I will volunteer and be somewhere... more the likely the sign in table as usual.
