Angry Getting screwed by ford on my EGR cooler/ warranty

SO my dads 06' F450 contractor body truck has 95k miles on it, almost 1 year ago he had the EGR cooler/oil cooler warrantied. 30k miles later (the warranty is only good for 12k) it takes a shit again. the dealer (antelope valley ford, lancaster) denied any repairs as did ford corporate. AV ford wants $3400.00 to fix it. he makes his living off the back of his truck and right now he's out of business.

after much research (as anybody who owns a 6.0 knows) we have found that this problem is a massive design flaw on international/fords part and now he's on the hook to fix it out of pocket. trying to make a dollar as a legaly licensed, bonded, insured contractor in the state of CA is hard enough with out your 40k truck needing 4k worth the parts every year. so the question is do we spend the $$$$ on the bulletproof set up (oil cooler and egr cooler) or replace it with OEM parts and off load the P.O.S for a cummins truck???

my family has owned over 25 Ford cars and trucks over the last 20 years but after this bullshit I think our brand loyalty is coming to an end?!?

any suggestions / thoughts are much appreciated

    thanks

I wouldn't put the same parts in it again, and I certainly wouldn't have the same place do the work. If you're gonna keep it, bulletproof it.

I would not let ford replace the oil and egr cooler for 3400. You should be able to get a full bulletproof system installed for around 4000 or another option would be bulletproof egr cooler ford oe oil cooler with coolant filter for around 2200-2300.

It's a 450 so it should be 14500 gvrw =>no smog required. Delete that shit and get an SCT to turn the valve off so no CEL. Flush the engine, change to a CAT-1 ELC coolant, replace the oil cooler with a factory unit and delete the EGR.

    I installed the EGR delete.
Back flush the engine with a garden hose until the water was clear (didn't forget to back flush the heater core), drained, flushed with distilled water (X2), drained and refilled using ELC and distilled water. Not using that Ford gold stuff no more.

You need to flush with Restore to remove the layer the ford gold deposited on the coolant channel. It will react with the ELC and you will more than likely be replacing your lube oil cooler again due to sludge clogging.
