    Angry '94 F350 pricing

Wrecked the 94 2 weeks ago. The guy rolled through a stop sign and I couldn't stop. I figurethat his insurance will want to total it, but I want it fixed or replaced, so I need to find what they're actually selling for. If anyone see's any please post up pricing and city so i can have as much as possible to go at them with.
    Thanks guys.

    Unhappy

    Jim.........

First off, I'm very sorry to hear about the accident.
Secondly, and you probably already did this, I ran your truck on Kelly Blue Book (Official Kelley Blue Book Values You Can Trust From kbb.com - Kelley Blue Book).
Guessing at a few things not in your signature, private party sale, your truck lists from $5,014 to $5,812...depending on condition.
(Don't bother with Edmunds (New Cars, Used Cars, Car Reviews and Pricing - Edmunds.com) they top out at dealer price $4,705!)

Lucky for me that it was the #2 truck. The blue one is fixed and running great.

Thanks for the info John, I've got a feeling this may take a while. I want it fixed or replaced.

    Jim........

Looking at the crash photo, I'd guess your truck is totaled...estimate it's going to cost more than $6000 to fix.
Insurance company will just give you the money they think the truck was worth.

I'd ask for $6,200 and settle for $6,000...that seems to be the high end for you.
I'd also point out to the insurance company that you have some aches and pains from the crash that you don't want to have to submit on a claim and the complete package should be worth $6,000 to them to get rid of you. Realistically, looking at the damage, you have to have some bumps and bruises even if they are light and you didn't need a doctor. And, who knows what the injury might turn into in 6 months. Insurance companies don't want any open medical claims. And, I'm not suggesting any fraud here...lots of macho guys just overlook some minor pain or bruises that should be pointed out to the insurance company.

A couple of years ago I was the passenger in my daughter's car when it was rear ended. Fairly minor, but my neck was a bit stiff afterward...went to Kaiser, all OK and no money out of my pocket. The other guy's insurance company sent me a letter offering $200 for my pain and suffering. I called their agent (nice lady, got no complaint with her) and told her I wasn't sure that was enough in case I had problems in the future. Bottom line, after a couple of months of me putting her off and her wanting to settle, she called me and said, "Look, the best I can do without a big investigation and doctor's reports is $500. I need to get this case closed. Will you settle for that?") At that point I settled and I think it was fair to all involved. The point being is that the insurance companies will negotiate and they start off low...and they do want to get it done and off their books.

Adjuster was out today, and yup, they're totaling it, surprise, surprise.
He said they would find several similar trucks for sale as close as possible to find the value and they will give me a copy of the list, so it sounds better than I expected so far....

Jim one of my vehicles was recently stolen and wasn't recovered. I battled it out with insurance for two months, but in the end I came out the victor, having been paid more than what I could have sold the vehicle for. What helped me most was providing the insurance company with receipts for work I did on the vehicle. I would start getting your receipts together now. Do not settle for the first offer, regardless of what it is. What insurance company do you have?

The other guy's insurance is paying for it, he was at fault. He has farmers, and they offered me considerably more than I expected. I think it was a pretty good offer.
