    Motorhomes?

I'm looking around trying to learn as much as I can about motorhomes & I've decided what I want is a diesel Pre-1998 to keep away from the smog laws.
I've been looking around on YouTube & like the looks of the ones that old & will be ok if I can find one in good shape.
I also love the idea of being able to add whatever power mods I want being a Pre-'98 diesel.

& wonder if any of you have one & what you may have done to it & what you might recommend etc etc.....

Hey I just thought about something!?!?!?

What is the law when in comes to the smog testing of Diesels?
Might there be a weight limit? & might a Class A motorhome be above that?
To where I wouldn't have bi-annual smog checks?

I doubt I'd be so lucky, but............. Maybe?????

OK, I just found this: http://www.socaps.com/chit-chat/9016...emissions.html

& wonder is this still the case?
& if so It's got me wondering what does a short ( 30' or less weigh? ) & is that the weight on the paper work? ( I'm sure it would be. ) But is that the dry weight?

This makes a HUGE difference in my search for a Motorhome.

I'm starting to consider looking at Class B's if my choice in Class A's would not be exempt.

Have you actually found any diesels 30' and under? I didn't think they made diesel motorhomes that small.

Yes I have found a few here & there with hours of looking on line but Gas ones are much more common.
Yet I'd prefer diesel for the fuel milage & longevity of the engine & like I said assuming they must be smogged , I dont want to deal with that.

So that makes me wonder if a Class A at about that size would weigh anymore?
