How much boost can a ( build date 09/94 ) 7.3 powerstroke engine take. never mind the which turbo or intercooler? 50-60 psi before head studs.

Boost isn't the issue, its back pressure that you have to watch out for. If you keep your boost/back pressure ratio close to 1:1 then I would say 40-50 and you would be at the limit on the 7.3. Anything more than that and you will want head studs for sure. If you are planning on making the kind of power that you will make with 40-50 psi of boost, why not do the studs anyway? If you're going to spend that kind of money on a 7.3, might as well do it right and do the studs.
