    FICM Rebuilding

    OK, finally got my batteries charged and rechecked my FICM. With the key on the volts were 48+, cranking the volts were 48+ till it tried to fire, then dropped to 17+, so FICM is shot. Found a few places to have it rebuilt and wanted to see if anyone has used or knows anyone who has used any of these places,
    Bullet Proof Diesel
    DAT
    Circuit Board Medics
    Electronic Restoration Service (RES)
    I am leaning toward RES because they have a lifetime warranty,
    Any input would be greatly appreciated,

    There's a guy out of Iowa named Ed Stephan that has gotten great reviews from the folks on FTE that have used him.

    Hey Karl,
    I've seen a couple of different do-it-yourself ones, but from what I've seen so far, if you screw it up, or even if it just doesn't work, you're out of luck because no one will touch it afterwards. Then it's a tow to the shop, new part and reprogramming. I think in my case this is one of those places where I'd rather pay to have a pro do it and make sure it's done right. I just don't want to get bit by choosing the wrong place.

    Steve does he upgrade them to 58volts?

    No, just stock voltage with upgraded components.

    I went with Electronic Restoration Service in Texas. I talked to the guy on the phone for a while and was pretty impressed, and he has a lifetime warranty. Does the repair and updates other parts while he's in there. We'll see how it goes when it gets here....

    After about 15 minutes of reassembly, turned the key and with one big puff of black smoke she fired right up and away we went. Starts and runs perfect now. I'm one happy boy!

    Do you have contact info for this service? A web search pulls up several Electronic Restoration Services in Texas? I'm facing this issue right now.
