Whats going on guys. Just wondering if any one out there has had a problem with their computer on a 2005 F-250 6.0? Trying to figure out if thats the problem with mine. Works when it wants too. Would be working fine then out of no where it'll just start throwing out a bunch of smoke from the exhuast and start to bog out. Already fixed the EGR Cooler(thanks ford) so not sure what it can be. If anyone out there has had a similar problem wouldnt mine hearing some feedback. Thanks

What color is the smoke? How long ago was the EGR cooler replaced? Was the EGR valve replaced when the cooler was done? Are you running a programmer?

Ford dealers are known to replace egr cooler without cleaning intakes and or reconditioning turbos while apart. Carbon sticking open egr vale or sticking turbo can case this concern. Fyi Ford pcms have a very low failure rate. It realy needs to be checked out before you go after a 1200.00 plus pcm. However I have had ficm cause black smoke and rough run at cold start up. Try and retrieve dtcs and post um up.
